Me and my Daughter
My name is Mary McFadden. I'm overweight, and have been for
more than half of my life. I didn't start overweight. As a matter of fact, I
was pretty skinny all the way through high school. Near the end of high school
I put on some weight and was still only 120 lbs. When I got married I was 130
lbs. Then each of my three pregnancies took a toll on my body. Now I weigh 289
lbs. Yes. I did just admit my weight for the world to see. So why the heck did
I do that? And why did I create this web site?
I created this website to help keep me on task during my journey to lose weight. I want your help with that. Whenever I can, I'm going to blog my progress. I'm not going to hold back. I'm going to share my difficulties and my successes. I'm going to share not only my weight loss efforts, but also what is going on in my life. Personal high and low times have a direct effect on my diet and weight.
So what do I need from you? I need your encouragement, your ideas, and your stories. How is your weight loss journey going, or how has it gone? Tell me about your ups and downs. How have people treated you because of your weight? Do you have recipes you want to share? I want to hear it all. The only thing I don't want to hear are insults and disparaging remarks. This sight is a place for healing, not for hurting others.
Here is my list of goals:
1. To lose 149 lbs.
2. To be healthy.
3. To be able to go hiking, or take walks with my kids.
4. To get rid of my back and knee pain.
5. To lower my blood pressure.
6. To get rid of my hiatal hernia.
7. To improve my digestive health.
8. To be able to breathe easier.
9. To live before I die.
10. To not be the first person to die in a zombie apocalypse.
